Why do I love Apple notes?
I love to use Apple notes – it’s my go-to notes app, and by far, it’s the app I use the most (Mac and iPhone). Apple notes is an excellent note-taking app because it’s simple and accessible. However, without losing this simplicity, the Notes app has become a powerful note-taking app with sharing capabilities, multimedia support, handwriting, tags, smart folders, tables, and more. I’m so used to working with Apple notes that I manage with it almost everything in my life, from quick notes to cheatsheets and even large-scale projects.
Apple notes is not a flawless app. that’s why so many note-taking apps are available with features that sometimes do not exist in Apple notes. But, for me, the simplicity, the ease, the accessibility, and, off-course, my habits – win.
The lost key feature
So, Apple notes is a good app, But it still lacks a key feature: linking one note to another. As a result, it’s hard to navigate back and forth between notes and stay on the workflow. Until now, this linking between different notes was the feature I was missing the most in Notes, and all the solutions/workarounds I found to that problem were not good enough.
If you search in Google, you will find that using the Shortcuts app is the most common solution/workaround to link one note to another. However, I hate this solution. It isn’t straightforward to execute and not stable, just like the Apple shortcuts app in general.
Another option is to link to the relevant note in icloud.com, but then you will throw away from the Notes app to the browser. So, it’s useless.
